What's It All About?
Why did the chicken cross the road? Nah, who cares? A rabbi, a priest, and a prostitute go into a bar… eh, never mind …
Okay, how about this: Two old friends whose greatest talent is making each other laugh decide to take a microscopic dive into the importance of comedy in our lives and the various things that make the human race laugh.
Sometimes therapeutic, poignant, political, sarcastic – and quite often juvenile and inappropriate – these two performers involve themselves in a fascinating exploration of what tickles their funny bone and doubles them over in convulsive spasms of mirth… in other words they delve into a deep and thoughtful study of funny.
Join Daryl and Greg on their journey of discovery as insights flow, truths are revealed and, perhaps – just perhaps – these senior citizens might take a step back into sophomoric giggles.
We guarantee you’ll smile and, sometimes, laugh along; you might learn a thing or two; and, at the very least, you’ll feel a little better than you did before you listened… because, after all, laughter is the best medicine. In a series of half-hour podcasts, these two actor-comedians will take a serious look at the silly, the bawdy, and the inane. Laugh along but be careful; because, quite often, in the spaces between chuckles, knowledge just might creep in!

Funny Thoughts!

Greg's
Stream of Co[he]nsciousness
Daryl Mendelson
Daryl Mendelson (Co-host) has been “cutting-up” possibly before time itself. His first recollection of performance was wow-ing his teacher and fellow 8 year old thespians in a portrayal of “molten lava."
He grew up the middle-child in a Jewish family helmed by two loving yet childlike parents. Against this backdrop - “comedy ensued” and Daryl developed a sense of humor for which he is largely known. He is a member of SAG/AFTRA, has performed in a multitude of musicals and plays and sang to Meryl Streep on National Television. Yet, until his recent retirement, he was a reluctant full time computer programmer, go figure! Daryl subscribes to the adage, “Laughter is the Best Medicine (If You Can Afford the Insurance).”
Laughing together with Greg as a ‘brother from a different mother’ for nearly four decades, has been a great joy and Daryl looks forward to sharing their brand of off-kilter humorous musings that just might get them institutionalized yet.
Daryl is in a relationship of more than 3 wonderful decades with his sweetheart Jackie and spends time with her and the ‘other woman’, Tikvah – the most adorable Chihuahua/Schipperke pooch you could ever imagine.
Gregory Cohen
Gregory Cohen (Co-host) is very familiar with comedy in all its forms. He has been an actor since the age of 10, a director since the age of 20, and a laughing stock for more than six decades. Once described as “The Mel Brooks of Orange County,” Greg has made his directorial mark as a king of farce, deftly combining split-second timing with life-threatening physical schtick. He grew up in a Jewish household, where laughter meant survival and moved on from there. He is thrilled to reunite once again with his comedic twin, Daryl, for these podcasts and looks forward to countless deep insights and innumerable improper jokes. When not cutting up online, Greg is a director, acting coach, and hypnotherapist who lives in Orange, CA with his wife of 33 years and their two fur-babies - Jemma and Bey.
The attachment syndrome is THE OPPOSITE of what I said. It deals with people who having difficulties in forming relationships. That’s why you shouldn’t believe anything I say!! 🙂
